securPharm e.V. is the German organisation for the authentication of pharmaceuticals. The legal foundation for the work of securPharm is the EU Falsified Medicines Directive 2011/62/EU as well as the Delegated Regulation (EU) No. 2016/161 pursuant to which each prescription drug will have to be subjected to an authentication before being dispensed to the patient since 9 February 2019.
securPharm builds the system for the authentication of pharmaceuticals in Germany. Authentication is performed based on a safety feature on the pharmaceutical packaging. This system is an important contribution to protecting patients from falsified medicines in the legal supply chain. securPharm is the German component in the EU-wide network against falsified pharmaceuticals.
The status report provides an overview of the status of the project and the experiences gathered. It is updated annually and is available in German and in English.
