securPharm-System

The securPharm system is based on the end-to-end principle, in which both ends of the supply chain contribute to anti-counterfeiting. One end is the marketing authorisation holder who places a medicine on the market. The other end is the point of dispense, for example a public pharmacy. It is part of the European network against counterfeit medicines (EMVS). In addition to the German securPharm system, this includes the systems of 27 member states of the European Union and the European Economic Area (EEA).

Why securPharm?

Patients should always be able to trust that they are receiving genuine medicines in the legal supply chain.

True to the motto ’secure medicines - protect patients’, we are working with our members and partners (strategic suppliers) in Germany to provide an IT system for checking the authenticity of pharmaceutical packaging in order to protect the legal supply chain. We are continuously improving the system in order to increase its protective effect. We support the national competent authorities in securing and monitoring the supply chain with knowledge and data from our system. We help them with data to the extent permitted by law.
